Teriyaki Boy

SM The Block
Edsa cor. North ave.
Quezon City, Phils.

A day to bond with someone you haven't seen for a long time...

My cousin "Kathy" just arrived from Italy and I promised to treat her in a reputable Japanese restaurant. Knowing that we both love Sushi and unfortunately I had a limited budget by that time I came to think of Teriyaki Boy. It offers authentic Japanese Cuisine on a reasonable price =)

California Maki 155Php each

I have tried Kimono Ken's sushi but this one is way better! It tasted like Saisaki and it was really good. By looking at the pictures you can tell how big they are and you can get easily full even if there are only eight pieces per serving. It's something you can order again and again when you go back here. Kathy ordered Mango shake for 80Php which you can share for two with its size but I preferred for an iced tea.

Tonkatsu 145Php, Yakisoba 165Php

Since she had her braces adjusted she opted for a noodle dish (Yakisoba). It was good, but not remarkable enough for me to order it again. Then I thought of something that goes well with her noodles and I went for Tonkatsu. With her having difficulty chewing, I ate it all by myself! The crunchy breading compliments well with its sauce. We both have braces but, it's not affecting my appetite even I had it adjusted or not.. =P

While eating, we were planning about our itineraries during her vacation. Where to go, What to do, What to eat etc. One of which is modelling and it did happen when she posed for my online clothing business.

I enjoyed taking photos of her for she gave justice to my clothes. If time comes and she becomes a model, I would volunteer myself to be her manager. But then she's only 16 and needed to finish her studies first so that when she's working already, it will be her turn to treat me in Italy! =P

Yogato

Going back, after finishing our main course, we agreed to have dessert. From the name itself Yogato, it's made of Yogurt with strawberry jellies, potchie, chocolate and strawberry sticks. I'm not really a fan of yogurt so I just had a taste of it then it was all hers. With all that delectable dishes I only paid 700+Php. I am thankful enough  that I was able to think of this place since payday was nowhere near at that time. The two of us were happy and satisfied with what we had. Spending time with her made me feel of having a sister which I never had and so we continued our bonding moments for a whole day of shopping! yay!

Yellow Cab's Dear Darla

A movie date night with Kiks and we planned to watch " Unofficially yours ".
When we got there by 7PM, I thought that we will be able to watch the movie right away since it's already late and there will be less people to watch the movie, but to my dismay, it was jammed-packed! And so we had no choice but to  avail the last full show just to be able to see this movie. The movie was to start by 10pm that time so we decided to have dinner first while waiting. We saw the new Yellow Cab's sandwich pizza and got intrigued by the number of people eating it and we tried it for ourselves.

Sandwich Pizza 150Php

The crust itself was already loaded with cheese and meat made thinly so you can fold it easily. It goes with sour cream, tomatoes and I forgot already what those leaves are : /
I like this even without the veggies. The crust and sour cream were acceptable enough for me plus the chili flakes! For 150 pesos it was so big and it already goes with a drink.

And then, I remembered to try their own panizza, "The Dear Darla"...

Dear Darla 310Php

Just to compare it with Uncle Cheffy's we ordered the 10incher since we already had the sandwich. It goes with arugula and alfalfa sprouts unlike in Uncle cheffy's which has 3 sides for their panizza. I'd say, Kiks was right, this is way better than Uncle cheffy's. It's more tasty and flavorful that you can even eat the pizza alone. We had two slices each for this size and see how big it was...

Knowing Yellow Cab to be one of the best tasting Pizzas in town, Kiks only paid 500Php. Not bad at all since we both enjoyed the food. Pizza Overload I'd say.. We were so full that we need to walk our asses! But, we know that after eating such, sweets is a must! And so we chose to have Starbucks' mocha frappe with hazelnut and took it inside the cinema. We sat there and relaxed with our cravings well spent... =)

Uncle Cheffy

Nuvali, Sta. Rosa Laguna
Philippines

My love for pizza is an understatement. It is my ultimate all time favorite that I can live with eating forever!

When they said, there's this "your not ordinary pizza", I got curious.. and always wanted to try the "Panizza". It was made so thin so you can roll it and eating your pizza won't be the same anymore...

Kiks and I were in for a road trip that day and we happened to cross Nuvali. We decided to stop over since it's our first time here and checked out the place. It was like Ayala Land Technohub at Commonwealth with all the companies and restaurants around, with a highlight of the lake that offers boating and fish feeding. A trail system where you could go biking and jogging with all the greenery around you. A place good for strolling and shopping at the same time! =)

After we checked out the place and tried some of the activities, it was almost dinner and we decided to grab a bite before we head home. We were choosing between Pig Out and Uncle Cheffy and I chose Uncle Cheffy since I haven't tried a Panizza before...

Uncle Cheffy Favorites 395Php

A Panizza goes with side dishes of tomatoes, arugula, and alfalfa sprouts. With each slice of the panizza you're going to add the three side dishes with the olive oil then roll it before eating, and it will be like the picture below:

It was kinda messy once you eat it because you really need to use your hands to enjoy it. It's good but I like the classic pizza more which has more cheese and toppings, and I admit that I love Pizza Hut's "oily" pizza more! Kiks said Dear Darla of Yellow cab was better than this one and that I should try it, we'll see about that...

Tiuey Noodle 295Php

This is an Asian fried noodles with beef, asparagus, cilantro, and shitake mushrooms. It tasted really nice but it's a bit oily though. I think their using a healthy kind of oil in this so we didn't feel any guilt at all.  We were not able to finish the panizza since we're already full, we requested to have it wrapped for take out and they even gave us extra side dishes for it. =)

After dining, we took a short walk since we were so full then we decided to go home already. And how lucky we were to get stuck in traffic! Good thing there's Starbucks on the way and we had our own share of their frappe to prevent from falling asleep on the way. =)

Spending your day with someone special makes it fun and really something to treasure. So make the most of everything while you're with them and you'll make a lot of memories like this worth sharing with others...

T.G.I. Friday's

Trinoma park, Edsa cor. North ave.
Quezon City, Phils.
02-943-2163

It was a very busy day for nurses like us working at St. Luke's Medical Center. Skipping lunch was normal in our "toxic" environment, we already acquired this habit since we cater the needs of our patients first before our own needs. And yet what do we get, complaints from demanding clients and doctors! Sometimes when you're too engrossed with what you're doing you tend to forget yourself, your intent was to get done with it already and go home. Since we're all tired and hungry, Ana decided to have dinner first and we headed to Trinoma. We thought, why not treat ourselves to something special to end our day and not dwell on bitterness because of ungrateful patients and bossy doctors. And so we checked in to Friday's. I was not sure if my stress will be relieved with the idea of eating here since I know it's a bit pricey, but Ana and Amor chose this place so the hell I care, just go and enjoy the company of your friends, right?

Friday's Pork Adobo 385Php

Amor ordered for this one. We all got to taste it and it was so good, tender and tasty! It's a steak with reduced Adobo sauce instead of gravy. A must try for Adobo lovers. If I were to order this, I'd need extra rice!

Mushroom Chicken and Mushroom 505Php

Nothing special with this one. It's like an ordinary Fried chicken with mozzarella on top. I ordered this one thinking of something like the chicken parmigiana of Banapple, but it's not! Guess what those nuggets are? Those were the mushrooms! It's good but I don't think it's worth 500 bucks at all. Ana ordered for the buffalo wings worth 295Php which was too spicy for us to like it! We also ordered for an extra rice as we shared each order for each one of us.

Fridays' Sundae 235Php

You can see the buffalo wings behind this gigantic sundae. And after eating that thing, it's really a relief to have a dessert like this! It's good for sharing with its size that for the three of us, we couldn't even finish it at once. We were like kids digging on this one while laughing on matters we understand by ourselves. Indulging with friends is good, it's like drinking a cold glass of water on a hot weather, it's refreshing.. Though we had a tough day at work because of the people around us, we still managed to enjoy and put smiles on our faces at the end of the day. =)

Iceberg

Timog Ave. and Mother Ignacia St.
Quezon City, Metro Manila
Philippines
02-413-5077

It's summer time! And what's best during this season?
Halo-Halo!

Super Halo-Halo 100Php

After buying gifts for my mom's birthday, Kiks and I looked forward to having this cold treat on a hot weather. Halo-Halo is a popular Filipino dessert that's not only a favorite during summer days but in all seasons. We chose Iceberg as it offers a variety of cold desserts,  and other meriendas to choose from.

Mango con Leche Flan 128Php
Extra milk 10Php

I like mine simpler, so I ordered for something with just four ingredients plus I love mangoes! It also has banana and macapuno. I also ordered for extra ice and milk since I like eating ice, I can even eat those two alone! I was just thinking why there's still an extra charge for the milk though... Since I was hungry and desserts were not enough, I ordered for something else to satisfy me, my comfort food.. Carbonara!

Hungarian Sausage Carbonara 188Php

The Famous Club House Sandwich 198Php

The Carbonara was good, I'd give it 7/10! It's tasty enough for me to like it, I just wish I could have unlimited parmesan cheese just like in Aveneto. And the Garlic bread wasn't garlic bread at all, it's just a butter bread.. As for the sandwich, It's good for sharing, with just a part of it I was already full. it's composed of Ham, Egg, and Chicken spread, with fresh potato fries on the side. Good enough for 200 bucks. All in all it was a refreshing treat after a walk in this summer heat. =)
